Plus scheduled rehearsals as outlined below
Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. One volunteer ensemble (out of several) – the onstage volunteer performers group – will need to be able to sit down comfortably on the floor in a circle and stay there for 15-20 minutes. They will be carrying a wine glass as they walk and will be playing the wine glass on the floor in the circle for the first section of the piece.
SF Symphony will provide guidance for selected participants.
NO COST but applicants must commit to all rehearsals and the performance.
Space is limited! Fill out the application form using the “apply now” button to indicate your interest.

Pan by Marcos Balter
The piece uses seven tableaux to tell the story of the mythological goat-god Pan, one of only two Greek deities said to have been put to death. PAN uses myth to articulate and explore the tensions present in our contemporary world. The experience and creative participation attempt to demonstrate, rather than speculate, how music-making allows for societies and communities to create together, shape space, question, reflect, re-visit, re-order and arrive in new and re-imagined locations again and again.
This performance will be rooted in collective artmaking and fully adaptable; accessibility accommodations will be made to include all performers. Participants can expect to be supported throughout the collaboration by Claire, Symphony musicians, and Symphony staff. No experience is necessary! All ages (8 and up) and abilities are welcomed. Instruments and training are provided. The only requirements are attendance at rehearsals and the performance, open ears, and a desire to have a musical and theatrical adventure with new friends!
