This is a week-long intensive with two evening sessions and a Saturday “lab.”
Workshop attendees will learn the main features of this amazing music software with explorations into the instruments and effects, as well as the arranging, looping and mixing tools of this powerful and popular audio production program. If time allows we can share and evaluate participant projects.

Who should attend?
Anyone interested in producing their own music at home using Logic Pro X will benefit from this series.
This workshop is open to all levels but will be geared towards beginners in music production.
No software experience required but there will be hands-on lab exercises using Logic Pro throughout the workshop series.
How should I prepare?
Open up Garage band on your Mac computer and get familiar with the interface, experiment with some of the starter templates and load in a few Apple Loops just for fun.
Download a trial version of Logic Pro X and get ready for the class by opening up your Garage Band session or start up a new session in Logic and load in a few loops and beats and experiment with different sounds.

About the Mentor
Producer/ Performer/ Educator Jef Stott has released over a dozen critically acclaimed full-length albums, many singles and remixes on various labels including Six Degrees Records, Black Swan Sounds, Hearts of Space, Universal Music among others, and has had many music placements and commissions in major film and television, video games and multimedia projects.
An in-demand performer, Jef Stott has embarked on several successful world tours that have taken him to festivals and club appearances in Asia, North America and Europe several times over the past two decades.
A dedicated music educator who has taught hundreds of classes on audio production in a variety of university classrooms, studios, community centers throughout North America, Jef has led the Digital Lab music production education program at SFJAZZ since 2013.
Stott holds a master’s degree in interactive media and is also a documentary filmmaker and videographer. He lives and works in San Francisco Bay Area, California.
